Weekly Update for 2013-06-16

CLUB MEETING: Sorry for the late notice but we are going to have our June meeting this Thursday at Coach Lewis’ house starting at 1830 hours. (There are just too many things going on next week.) On the agenda is a replay of a seminar that was done on the Paleo diet. Should be helpful. RACING: There are several local area sprints in the near future. Top Gun is July 27 and the Fort De Soto Sprint Series race is in August plus there is a Clermont sprint in July. Let us know where you racing. Lew Bennett completed the Enka Sprint Tri in Ashville, NC on Saturday which consisted of a seriously mountainous 17 mile ride and a seriously hilly 5K run. Definitely not in Florida anymore! GASPARILLA CHALLENGE: Our team is growing -there are about 5 of us who have signed up for the 4 race challenge in February. Let us know if you want to go for it. There are limited slots left. AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION WALK: This team is also growing! Please join Coach Lewis’ team for the American Heart Association Walk on November 2. The minimum fund raising is only $100 per walker and we will work together to meet that goal. If you don’t want to walk you just make a donation. This is the weekend before our ride. This time we need everyone to complete a new app so we can update our addresses, emails etc. The fee is $25 and can be mailed or handed to Coach Lewis. (10497 Longwood Dr., Largo 33777). NEW RAYS STARTING PICTCHER! Yea right, but Coach Lewis was selected to throw out the first pitch at the Ray’s game on June 24th. It is in conjunction with the American Heart Association Tampa Bay Walk. Game time is 1900 hours. We will have the info on tickets in a couple of days, so email Coach Lewis if you want to go. Meanwhile he will be practicing actually getting the ball to home plate without it hitting the ground first.
